Scholarship Program Guidelines
Nathan L. Wolfson, z"l, established this program to provide educational scholarships to blind and visually impaired Jewish students at accredited colleges or universities.
Eligibility requires written certification by a qualified authority that you are legally blind as defined in the Supplemental Security Income program under Title XVI of the Social Security Act which currently states:
(2) An individual shall be considered to be blind for purposes of this title if he has central visual acuity of 20/200 or less in the better eye with the use of a correcting lens. An eye which has a limitation in the field of vision such that the widest diameter of the visual field subtends an angle no greater than 20 degrees should also be considered as having a central visual acuity of 20/200 or less.
Qualifications: strong academic record and demonstrated engagement with the Jewish community.
Subject to the number of qualified applicants and the availability of funds in a given year, each student selected for a Wolfson Scholarship will receive at least $2,500, with the possibility of renewal for a second year upon continued academic excellence.
Scholarships are for full-time undergraduate and graduate students only. Undergraduate students enrolled in 12 or more credits per quarter/semester who will be Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, or Seniors during the fall 2024 period are eligible. Graduate students enrolled for nine or more semester credits, nine or more quarter credits, or students involved in thesis or dissertation preparation that is considered full-time by the institution are eligible.
All scholarship decisions are final.

Applications must be submitted online prior to April 4, 2025.
